ERMC phlebotomist Steven Kibiloski named 2023 clinical employee of the year

Steven Kibiloski, long-time phlebotomist at Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC), was named the 2023 recipient of the hospital’s clinical Meinke Sherman Care, Serve, Inspire Award.

Kibiloski’s nomination for the 2023 ERMC Clinical Employee of the Year award, submitted by his co-workers, highlighted his dedication, care, and kindness toward his patients and colleagues throughout the hospital.

The nomination read, in part, “He always has the patient’s best interest in mind. He was recently described as always doing a great job, being very kind, empathetic, polite, and efficient by a patient. This same patient said that no medical care during her cancer treatment compares to what he provides here at ERMC.”

Kibiloski worked at ERMC in the 1980’s for about six years and returned to the hospital around ten years ago. He stated that his favorite part of the job is being able to work with such a wonderful team and the service that is provided to patients at ERMC.

When asked if he was surprised to win this year’s award, Kibiloski stated, “I was completely surprised! I work with so many people all over the hospital who are deserving of this award, and it’s something I never expected.”

He added that, “My sister, Sue Bradford, won this award in 2009, and I am proud to have followed in her footsteps.”

Kibiloski mentioned that he is forever grateful for the recognition and will try to live up to this standard every day.
