Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) welcomes Marissa Amboy, BSN RN, as the new Emergency and Respiratory Manager. Marissa comes to ERMC from McLaren Greater Lansing, where she was the Emergency Room manager.
Amboy received her AND from Lansing Community College and her BSN from Oakland University. She also has plans to work towards her master’s degree in the future.
Amboy explained that her interest in the science of the human body was the initial reason she was drawn to medicine. She then fell in love with nursing after she saw that her interest in science and caring for others could overlap.
“The fast–paced, ever–changing world of the emergency department always interested me, and I can’t see myself doing anything else,” Amboy said.
Amboy stated that her favorite part of her work is delivering excellent care to patients and their family members while working as a team.
“I became interested in treating patients at ERMC based on the team atmosphere you feel when talking to anyone that works at the hospital,” said Amboy. “I loved the tight-knit, family feel of a small-town rural health system.”
When she is not working, Amboy’s favorite thing to do is to take her camper all over Michigan with her husband and golden retriever, River. She also loves reading thrillers and planting flowers in her garden.
Amboy stated that she is happy and excited to be here at Eaton Rapids Medical Center.
