ERMC Welcomes New Podiatrist, Dr. Gene Rohacz, DPM

Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) welcomes Gene Rohacz, DPM, as the new Podiatrist. Dr. Rohacz is board certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgeons. He is also a member of the American College of Lower Extremity Surgeons, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the International Foot and Ankle Foundation.

Dr. Rohacz received his undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University before completing his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. He then completed his training at VAMC in Richmond, Virginia.

Rohacz is a second-generation Podiatrist. His dad was also a podiatrist in the Jackson area.

“I enjoy working in smaller communities where you can get to know the people better,” he said. “My favorite part about my job is being able to interact with patients and learning more about them rather than just their condition.”

When he is not at work, Dr. Rohacz enjoys bowling and stage and close-up magic. He is also part of a “Shoe for the Homeless” project that he started in the mid-1990s. This project has contributed over $15,000 in shoe donations. You can also find an article he authored and published in the American College of Sports Medicine titled, “Presence of Multiple Nerve Disorders in the Lower Extremity.”

Rohacz would like to thank ERMC for welcoming him and looks forward to contributing to the health of the community.
