Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) would like to welcome our new Director of Talent Development, Daniel Ankney III, to the team. One of the main struggles in the healthcare industry today is the shortage of healthcare workers. ERMC created this new position to help tackle this industry problem and minimize the turnover rate.
“As the new Director of Talent Development, my primary goal is to ensure that the hospital is staffed with competent, conscientious, and engaged employees who strive to see our hospital succeed,” said Dan. “I want to earn the trust of our department leaders and learn how I can help with their staffing needs.”
Dan graduated from Grand Valley State University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration. After college, Dan pursued a career in recruiting in healthcare staffing. Back in 2021, he completed an internship at ERMC and periodically volunteered his time helping the ERMC’s lab department.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to invest my time and skills into an organization driven by their community, and that truly cares about each member of their team,” said Dan.
Dan’s position focuses not only on recruiting but also on the retention side for the hospital. “I have a goal to learn about any past or present experiences from our current healthcare professionals to help enhance the good and mitigate the bad,” said Dan.
During Dan’s free time, he enjoys going to the gym and getting outside at any time of the year. He also recently joined the Rotary Club of Eaton Rapids in hopes that it will provide him with more opportunities to make an impact within the community.
