ERMC Physical Therapist Dillon Ommodt Named 2025 Clinical Employee of the Year

Dillon Ommodt, a physical therapist at Michigan Joint Rehabilitation Institute (MJRI), was named the 2025 recipient of Eaton Rapids Medical Center’s (ERMC) Clinical Meinke Sherman Care, Serve, Inspire Award.

Dillon was nominated for the 2025 ERMC Clinical Employee of the Year award by a colleague who highlighted their exceptional professionalism, clinical excellence, and genuine compassion for both patients and staff.

The nomination stated that Dillon consistently goes above and beyond to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. “He takes the time to truly listen, develop individualized treatment plans, and motivate patients through even the most challenging stages of recovery,” the nomination read. “Patients frequently express gratitude for his encouragement, expertise, and ability to make them feel supported and confident throughout their rehabilitation journey.”

Dillon joined ERMC in October 2024 and serves as a physical therapist at MJRI, the hospital’s partnered orthopedic clinic in Jackson. He shared that his favorite part of the job is the one-on-one time spent with patients. “It allows me to get to know them at a personal level to better understand what motivates them in their recovery so we can connect on a shared goal,” Dillon said.

In addition to outstanding patient care, Dillon is recognized as a valued and dependable team member. The nomination highlighted his willingness to assist coworkers in any capacity, from helping with daily tasks such as laundry and folding towels to sharing clinical knowledge that empowers both patients and staff. “He maintains a positive attitude even during busy or stressful times,” the nomination stated. “There is always a smile and a fun story to share when patients are struggling or in pain.”

Dillon’s dedication extends beyond daily responsibilities. He consistently demonstrates leadership and initiative by adapting treatment strategies to meet patient needs, contributing ideas to improve clinic operations, and inspiring patients to push through difficult moments in their recovery.

Dillon was surprised when presented with the award. “I am extremely surprised to have won this award,” he said. “I work at the satellite rehab clinic and feel that I am working toward making MJRI a better place, but I never thought that would translate to the hospital as a whole or even lead to being nominated, let alone winning.”

Winning the award reaffirmed Dillon’s decision to join ERMC. “The work environment cultivated through ERMC and MJRI has allowed me to be the best provider that I can be,” Dillon shared.

The Meinke Sherman Care, Serve, Inspire Award was established to honor ERMC’s founding physicians, Dr. Albert Meinke and Dr. Eber Sherman. This award recognizes three employees each year for their outstanding service: a leader, a clinical staff member, and a non-clinical staff member.
