Going Home

Discharges

Eaton Rapids Medical Center employs registered nurses and licensed social workers who will assist you and your family members when it is time for your discharge. This will help make your transition from hospital to home more comfortable. Any special instructions you may need to follow will be provided.

Billing/Financial Concerns

Hospital reimbursement under your insurance is determined by your illness or injury and services you receive. The hospital may be paid on a fixed payment for each hospital encounter. You may be responsible for deductibles, co-insurance, and any policy limitations. If your illness or injury is work-related, or the result of an auto accident, your stay may be covered under your auto insurance or workers’ compensation program.

Prior Authorization

Many insurance companies and HMOs require their members to obtain prior approval for hospital services. By being aware of the requirements of your third party payor or HMO, you may avoid reductions in benefits. All written authorizations should be presented to the Registration Department when you first arrive.
