Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As we prepare for a new calendar year, it is encouraging to take the time to review and highlight the many endeavors and accomplishments over the last twelve months. It is always exciting to see the great results that come from our hospital and community working together. We have received awards, prepared for and completed The Joint Commission inspection, began the transition to electronic medical records and enjoyed amazing personal success stories along the way.

It has been a rewarding year in regards to awards earned by specific departments. We are proud to share that our Laboratory has received national recognition by being awarded accreditation from the College of American Pathologists. We have also achieved the American College of Radiology Gold Seal Accreditation. Finally, we were presented with the 2011 Michigan Rural Health Quality Improvement Award for Inpatient Clinical Performance, Outpatient Clinical Performance, Emergency Department Transfer Performance and Patient Safety. We have set even higher standards for the upcoming year and look forward to working together to carry out our mission of providing exceptional, personalized healthcare.

In June we started the process of transitioning to electronic health records. Our final goal is to have all of our patient care records electronic by spring of 2012. Also this year, two of our staff members celebrated 35 years of service to our hospital, two more share honors as Employees of the Year and Dr. Kelly made an inspirational service trip to Africa. Please join us in recognizing the incredible efforts and achievements of our staff during 2011!
