Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) has been ranked second in the State of Michigan for delivering best-in-class patient experience. The hospital was recently awarded the 2022 Outstanding Patient Experience Award by Healthgrades, an organization that researches and compares healthcare providers across the country. ERMC’s ranking on this list officially marks it as one of the top hospitals in the nation, and the second best hospital in the state of Michigan, for overall patient experience.
Patient experience measures tell you how patients felt about the care they received at the hospital. These measures are based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Healthgrades bases its rankings on nine specific measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medication and post-discharge care instructions. For this annual analysis 3,173 hospitals were evaluated using data collected from HCAHPS surveys and the top 15% across the nation were recognized as prioritizing and excelling in patient experience.
