ERMC employees honored with distinguished service award

Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) employees Elizabeth Gurecki, PA-C and Lindsay Peters were honored with the Dr. Meinke & Dr. Sherman Distinguished Service Award at the hospital holiday celebration on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Each year, two ERMC employees are recognized providing exceptional service to patients and the community. The award, also known as the Employees of the Year Award, was established to honor Dr. Albert Meinke and Dr. Eber Sherman, physicians who were instrumental in the founding of Eaton Rapids Medical Center.

Gurecki, a certified Physician Assistant in the ERMC Family Practice & Redicare, was nominated by two of her colleagues. She is known for her kind and giving spirit, and her coworkers describe her as “absolutely delightful.” She has worked for the hospital for one year.

One nomination states, “Elizabeth exemplifies what an ERMC employee should be. She is willing to help anyone in need without hesitation, no matter the situation. She is very kind, caring and concerned for patients. She will often check up on them after an appointment just to see how they are doing. In addition, she is always professional and appreciative.”

Another nomination adds, “Elizabeth is always encouraging everyone she encounters to be as happy as they can be. She greets you with a smile and has an infectious laugh. She goes above and beyond her job responsibilities to meet the needs of patients and keep the schedule running smoothly, even if it means helping patients of other providers.”

Peters has served as the ERMC Director of Marketing and Fund Development for seven years. Nominations describe her as “positive, energized and upbeat,” mentioning that “she communicates freely, keeping the hospital well-informed of activities. She seeks answers to questions until they are resolved for all. Each year, she increases the revenue raised at the ERMC Foundation Golf Outing. She has also improved the size and scope of every hospital community event.”

Another nomination shares, “Lindsay spends countless hours outside the normal nine-to-five job working on a wide variety of community projects. A few of the organizations she is involved with include the Eaton Rapids Rotary Club, Women Working Wonders, the Eaton Rapids Marketing Alliance, and the Eaton Rapids Public Schools Board of Education. She has a strong commitment to service in the community and is the single best advocate for ERMC. She has a zest for life and a love for this hospital.”
