On Thursday, April 26 Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) will celebrate the opening of the new 25,000 square foot addition to the hospital with a ribbon cutting ceremony, open house, and free community health fair. The celebration and health fair will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with speakers delivering remarks at 4:30 p.m. and the ribbon cutting directly following.
The hospital’s President and CEO, Tim Johnson, will speak at the event, as well as the Chair of the ERMC Board of Directors, Leonard Peters. Additionally, there will be remarks delivered by a host of esteemed guests including Paul Malewski, Mayor of the City of Eaton Rapids; Alexander Morris, representative for Congressman Tim Walberg; Dr. Ashok Gupta, ERMC Medical Director; Dr. Lowell Fernander, ERMC Family Practice Medical Director; and Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.
The public is welcome to attend this event and encouraged to tour the expansion and enjoy the health fair activities. Complimentary refreshments will be provided along with a variety of health and wellness services. Chair massages and glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and spinal screenings will all be available, as well as meet-and-greets with the providers of ERMC. This event will also include giveaways and a teddy bear clinic where stuffed animals can receive check-ups. Guests will be welcomed at entrances C and D at the rear of the hospital on Williams Street and West Street, and all activities will take place in the new building.
