The Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) Auxiliary presented the Volunteer of the Year award to Nancy Pople at the annual volunteer recognition dinner held on Thursday, April 27, 2017. This honor is awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond to serve others.

Pople has been an asset to the ERMC Auxiliary since she joined the organization in 2002. She has served on the Auxiliary Board for many years and is in charge of inventory and buying merchandise for the Owl’s Perch Gift Shop. These duties keep her busy an average of 20 hours each week. She also spends countless hours working on hospital fundraisers such as the Fall Gala and Purse Bingo. In addition, she enjoys helping out with other hospital activities such as the Second Grade Tours.

Pople’s community service efforts extend beyond the Auxiliary. She was appointed to the Eaton Rapids Medical Center Board of Directors in 2012. Earlier that year, she was received the Ted Oliver Community Service Award from the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and was a finalist for the 2012 Greater Lansing Woman of the Year. She was recognized for her contributions to Women Working Wonders, First United Methodist Church, Eaton Rapids Public Library, Eaton Rapids Alumni Association, Eaton Community Palliative Care and many other organizations.

“Nancy can be described as reliable, dedicated and inspiring,” remarked Lindsay Peters, director of marketing at ERMC. “Her involvement in so many groups is truly impressive. We appreciate her very much. She is very deserving of this honor.”

Since its inception, the Auxiliary has provided volunteers and financial support to the hospital to improve the health of the community. For more information about becoming a member of the ERMC Auxiliary, please visit
