The Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) Auxiliary presented the Volunteer of the Year award to Patti Oliver at the annual volunteer recognition dinner held on Thursday, April 19, 2018. This honor is awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond to serve others.

“Patti is often described as kind, thoughtful, caring and sweet,” says Nancy Pople, member of the ERMC Auxiliary and ERMC Board of Directors. “She is extremely organized and will do anything to help you. Patti has taken on leadership roles within her community, church and the Auxiliary. She is a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister who finds the time in her busy life to always be there for her family. She is a wonderful friend. If you need a ride to the doctor or to run an errand, Patti is there. All of these qualities make her a very valuable member of the Auxiliary and she deserves our appreciation for all she has done over the years.”

Oliver has served the Auxiliary in a multitude of roles since becoming a member in 2010. She has worked in the Auxiliary’s Owl’s Perch Gift Shop, helped with the Gala, co-chaired Purse Bingo every year since it began, and held many different positions on the Auxiliary Board of Directors. Her husband, Tim Oliver, is also a valued asset to the Auxiliary. The Olivers enjoy making popcorn for the staff of the hospital and community events. While currently working on the Auxiliary Purse Bingo event, they are simultaneously planning the Ox Roast Festival & Carnival for Saint Peter Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids.

Since its inception, the Auxiliary has provided volunteers and financial support to the hospital to improve the health of the community. For more information about becoming a member of the ERMC Auxiliary, please visit www.eatonrapidsmedicalcenter.org/about/auxiliary/.
