The Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) Auxiliary presented the Volunteer of the Year award to Marcia Jackson at the annual volunteer recognition dinner on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Each year, this honor is awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond to serve others. Marcia has been a member of the ERMC Auxiliary since 1996 and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the hospital’s Medical Surgical Unit for 30 years before retiring in 2013.
“Marcia is often described as having a big heart,” says Nancy Pople, member of the ERMC Auxiliary and ERMC Board of Directors. “She is a wife, mother, and grandmother who generously takes time out of her busy family and church life to give back to the hospital through working in the Owl’s Perch Gift Shop, often filling in for shifts on short notice. She helps with fundraisers in many capacities, has served on the Auxiliary Board of Directors where she thoughtfully helped steer the organization’s decisions, and is also passionate about recycling. We are so glad she chose to continue to support ERMC by serving as an Auxilian after her retirement!”
The ERMC Auxiliary was pleased to present Marcia with this honor, and takes pride in its continual support of Eaton Rapids Medical Center. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has provided volunteers and financial assistance to the hospital through various fundraising events, always aiming to improve the health of the community.
