

Emergency Department Nurse Michelle Crippen, R.N. and Trina Spitzley, Quality Support Assistant, have been awarded the 2007-2008 Dr. Meinke~Dr. Sherman Distinguished Service Award.
This award is presented during the ERMC Holiday Gala and serves as a way to recognize outstanding service. The criteria to receive this designation is extremely comprehensive and candidates must demonstrate ownership, making others’ day, the courage to change, loving what they do, being in touch with others needs, being a student, as well as a teacher. The award is given each year by the Reward and Recognition committee to one clinical and one non-clinical employee.
Michelle Crippen has been employed by Eaton Rapids Medical Center since 1996 in the Emergency Department. You will often see Michelle representing ERMC at job fairs, Safety Town, and First Aid booths during local events. In addition, she is a volunteer of Hamlin Township Fire Department, Eaton Rapids Area EMS and delivers Meals on Wheels.
Trina Spitzley, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Quality, was hired in 2001 and since that time has held various positions for a variety of departments. Trina is best described as being thoughtful of her coworkers and helpful to visitors, family members and patients. A shining example of her willingness to go the extra mile was when she shoveled the snow around the car of an inpatient during their hospitalization.
Each recipient received a $500 cash gift, a framed certificate, proclamation from the Board of Directors and their names are permanently placed on a plaque in the main lobby.
