Lack of a good night's sleep can lead to numerous health problems.
Do you suffer from a sleep disorder?
- Loud snoring
- Morning headaches
- Memory loss or difficulty concentrating
- Gasping or chocking during sleep
- Restless sleep or frequent awakenings
- Loss of energy or fatigue
- Falling asleep when you shouldn't
- High blood pressure
- Told that you stop breathing in your sleep
If you have two or more of the above, you may be suffering from a sleep disorder. A sleep study helps to diagnose the problem, getting you on the way to a better night's sleep.
Life Care Sleep and Health Center performs sleep studies in a beautiful home setting located behind Eaton Rapids Medical Center. The program allows for the following tests:
- Nocturnal Polysomnography
- CPAP Titrations
- Multiple Sleep Latency Testing
- ETCO2 monitoring
- SA02 Titration
Technicians specifically trained in sleep disorders perform these tests and all are certified in basic cardiac life support.
In most cases, the patient arrives at approximately 9:00 p.m. and spends the evening at the Sleep Center. Small gold electrodes are applied to the head, face and legs to monitor breathing, oxygen level, brain wave patterns and heart rate and rhythm. The patient is released at around 7:00 a.m. These tests are painless and can lead to the correction of snoring, apneas during sleep and can reduce the risk of high blood pressure and cardiac problems. Patients who normally sleep during the day can also be easily accommodated by our Sleep Center staff.
A physician order is required for a sleep study.
