MPRO’s, Governor’s Award for Improving Patient Safety and
Quality of Care.
Eaton
Rapids Medical Center
was also given the prestigious 2006
Governor’s Recognition of Excellence award. The Recognition of Excellence is the highest
honor awarded to hospitals as part of the annual Governor’s award recognition
program. This was the first time that the Governor recognized the very top
performing Michigan Hospitals. Eaton Rapids
Medical Center
was among 18 hospitals throughout the state selected as a top performer on
clinical performance indicators related to heart failure and pneumonia.
“Award
recipients are committed to providing Michigan
citizens with high quality health care,” said Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. Award criteria aligns
with improving care in a number of clinical areas. Eaton
Rapids Medical Center
chose from pre-selected clinical areas which are designated as national health
care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Eaton
Rapids Medical Center
established a multidisciplinary team to spearhead improvement measures using
proven, evidence-based practices. “Together, our staff is demonstrating that we
are providing the very best in medical treatment and care — the right care,
each and every time” said Vanessa Mulnix, R.N.,
Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management.
The Governor and MPRO have partnered to honor
hospitals since 2003. This marks the fourth year Eaton
Rapids Medical Center
has received the award. Eaton
Rapids Medical Center
was honored on September 10, 2007
at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
