Leslie Neubecker-Czubko and Chinmay Zinzuvadia

Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) employees Leslie Neubecker-Czubko, RD and Chinmay Zinzuvadia, PT, CIMT were honored with the Dr. Meinke and Dr. Sherman Distinguished Service Award at a hospital function on January 15, 2011. Each year, two employees are recognized for providing exceptional service to Eaton Rapids Medical Center patients and the community. The award was established to honor Dr. Meinke and Dr. Sherman, physicians who were instrumental in the founding of Eaton Rapids Medical Center.

When registered dietitian Leslie Neubecker-Czubko saw a need to promote healthier eating in the community while supporting local merchants, she pursued bringing a farmers market to the hospital grounds. Leslie is also active in many hospital committees. In addition, she spends much of her time educating community groups such as the Eaton Rapids Rotary Club and Mothers of Preschoolers about nutrition and wellness.

According to the nomination, "Leslie is the catalyst for changes that improve ERMC. She could merely come here, see her patients and leave. Instead, she goes above and beyond, staying long hours to volunteer for various wellness projects. It is evident that Leslie enjoys her job and cares about the health of the community. Her positivity and kindness motivates others."

Chinmay Zinzuvadia, a physical therapist and certified integrated manual therapist in the rehabilitation department often works through his lunch if someone presents with a need for his expertise. He is currently working toward a doctorate in physical therapy.

The nomination states "I have never encountered anyone who is more tuned into other's needs. The compassion Chinmay shows for patients is heart-warming. He is willing to help anybody, anytime, for any reason. He also has amazing pride for our hospital. Chinmay's high energy level, unselfish devotion to patients and good-natured personality makes us all strive to be better at what we do. It is clear that he has an unbelievable gift. Our hospital and our community are very fortunate to have someone of this caliber working with us."
